Do we know the requirements?  i Heard that it was only qualified by at least a 500-550 round clip.  is there any more to it.  if this is the only case im already qualified.(600 round clip for my AK)

as of yet we have not covered the Support Gunner MOS/AOS.  Like it was said^^^  we could probably knock those out tommorrow night at the meeting.  And i think i may qualify with a 5000 rd box mag?

the main reason for a support gunner is to lay down cover fire.  all you need is a large mag and a happy trigger finger.

yes but trigger control will become part of that training!
noone want some guy on the field just hammering on people and hurting them.

Yeah, when to use the firepower and how to use it will be a big part of the training. Its more then spray and pray

you can get more kills if you just do small 3 round bursts.  if you spray and pray the enemy is going to duck and cover and not come back up.  you have better aiming better concealment and also it all but eliminates the chance of people accedentaly getting hurt

i am getting my m4 with a 5000 rd box mag today so as soon as i can get trained as a support gunner would be great, maybe set up a training session some time in the summer.

For training you will need to start with a basic rifleman training. Then confirmation that you know any understand MAG Rules and Regulations. Finally a Support Gunner training can be had. Work with you XO to get this stuff scheduled.
