Okay, well after Sunday's trial of this, I have made a few observations.
First and foremost, WE NEED TO DO THIS WITH LOW FPS GUNS!!! I cannot stress this enough. People came away with some serious welts and I saw Godfather had his hand shot and it was bleeding pretty bad. I will say this though, this game was NOT meant to be played with YOUR gun. It was meant to be played with a low fps gun loaned for the game (springers, shotguns, anything within 200ish fps range) Also, USE THE BANG RULE!! I saw quite a few players keep shooting zombies well within the 20ft radius for the bang rule. Granted it was mostly the younger players that did this.
Onto other things. There cannot be more than a handful of survivors. The amount of survivors that we had during Sunday's game was WAY TOO MANY. That's why we had to boos the zombie's power so much. There can only be 4 or 5 MAX. Alright, now this next thing leads into another thing that I noticed. Nobody really wanted to be a zombie, now I can understand why, everyone wants to be the survivor and no one wants to be a target. Now, I had this idea for the game originally in the back of my mind, but, due to lack of proper organization of this game, I wasn't able to do this: I've thought of having players take turns as zombies and survivors and get into groups of 4. Then once the order of when each group will be the survivors is decided, the first group goes and every other group is turned into zombies until it's their turn to go. ( in other words once the other group is dead.
Okay, next is important. This game NEEDS organization BEFORE (day before) the game is played. This way ammo caches are able to be prepared and face protection can be prepared and people game pick their survivor groups and various other things. What we did Sunday was a very very rough version of what I had intended.
Next we talk about ammo. One hicap is WAY too much. Half a hicap I think would be good OR one or two midcaps OR if you have a springer then two mags. Also, I want this game to start off with players having springer pistols and THEN getting better weapons as the game progresses. Too obtain these weapons the survivors must go to a location away from the location they must defend to the weapons area where they will randomly receive a weapon (someone will take care of this) Also ammo will still be dropped randomly and the person who drops it will say "HEY AMMO OVER HERE!"
Finally, (I think), this game was intended to be played at night, so this REALLY needs to be scheduled before-hand and have a roll call. Also me and Fish talked about doing a camp out sort of thing on the field and have a "Hallow's eve party" and play through the night. (Sorta like what we did for Christmas last year.) So standby for info and what-not.
So yeah, I THINK that covers it. So ASK QUESTIONS and GIVE INPUT please!
