some electrical problems in my M16 <3
« on: August 04, 2010, 07:45:42 AM »
hay guys! My beloved M16 is having wireing problems  :'(
I took my gearbox apart because the gears weren't locked up but I had little trigger pull. After taking it apart I found a BB in the GB (yes red I blame you <3) but once I put my baby back togeather I pulled the trigger and heard the motor tune a little bit so I tossed my batter on the charger. once that was done I watched the fuse as I pulled the trigger and the fuse went kaput. I'm thinking I crossed wires somewhere.

Make sure the positive is connected to the positive and the negative to the negative on the motor, if thats not it try backing the motor height down some.

Did you put in a new fuse? Is your motor hot as well?
If your motor is hot, then there is too much resistance in the gearbox, causing it to draw too much current, thus the fuse blowing.
If just the wires are hot, then they are probably damaged, or too thin.

I was tired when I made that post  :-\
The fuse blew because the motor locked up and peaked obviously.

Gun has been fixed. When he put the gearbox back together he had mixed up the shimming and the bevel gear was shimmed to tightly putting an excessive amp draw on the motor causing the wiring to get hot and the fuse to blow.
