Hello, from my nick, you can probably guess my name is Wes. I've lightly toyed around with airsoft guns over the past few years, but only recently have I done some research about how actual airsoft is played. I just bought a third generation JG T3, as well as all of the gear I should need to get started, like good goggles with some defog spray, a smart charger, extra high capacity magazine, and some high grade BB's.
I doubt I'll have the T3 by the time I'd like to start airsofting, because I bought it on pre-order, but I saw that I can rent one, and I'll be able to use my extra magazine. I live about an hour away from the field, but I'll be within just a few miles the first week of August. I'd like to attend an event on Sunday the 1st, but that's only a possibility right now. It's likely I'll attend an event at a later date.
I've read thoroughly through the rules of how to play, and how to maintain the guns. It's likely that I will not do very well at first, because I am used to a totally different form of combat, that being firing single shot foam dart guns, which fire anywhere from 120-500 fps, with a 50-150 foot range, depending on the model and how it's been tuned (this is a strange, rare form of "nerf"). It's fast paced and played in mostly open spaces.
I'm very excited to get started, and I'll probably be gaming there soon!
