South Africa by the coast is actually very nice, they get a lot of tourism because there are a lot of nice beaches and actually quite a few rich people have homes in South Africa along the coast. Once you get inland though it does change a lot, no more big hotels and condos but more smaller villages. There's something like over 300 different tribes and languages in South Africa, very interesting place culture wise.
