hahaha yes, the only up side to sniping is the stealth. I once sat and picked off people in a fast trigger time game I got around 9-12 kills in that one small game because of all of the noise nobody knew where my pops were coming from. they can be good, but you have to be good too!

first off gambi, mgunner makes a great sniper, as well as a spotter.
he meets my first requirement. he listens to instructions... you could use a huge dose of that.
he is also very, very quiet. talks only when needed.
mako, keep the bolt action... let me show you how to effectively use in on the field as a support role.
secondly, aeg vs. snipers rifles- everyone has their personal preference.
it does not matter how much you throw into any gun, with out training it will not help.
i could hand most anyone one of my rifles, but as red could tell you,it takes a certain skill to do the role of a sniper.
and sometimes the weapon just likes the player. like my old mb02, which i hear a rumor might be coming back to me soon. but i digress.
taking on the role of a sniper is great, if you have a competent teacher. there are more skills to learn as a sniper than any other job on the field. this role may ask you to never take a shot the whole game, or take on a full squad of riflemen alone.

Ghost, when do you think you'll be able to show me a few things? I may be able to stay after Heavy Rain a bit, depends how tired I am. But yeah that would be great if you could show me some tricks to sniping, although I think the biggest part is because my l96 can be as innacurate as crap sometimes. I use .28's, I have hopup all the way down, and it still shoots slightly up and to the left.

I use both, and the OLDER players have seen me be EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE WITH BOTH.

The end. lol

I forgot to mention that Ghost, its very true. The gun does not make the player, the player makes the gun.

I was not insulting snipers or sniper rifles. I just don't like to see new players show up with a sniper rifle, eager and ready to play airsoft, then leave discouraged. I just want everyone to have a good time on the field, and I think as a starter weapon an AEG is an excellent choice.

Who knows...maybe sometime in the near future Redrover will be the one holding a sniper rifle. You never know...

yup, your hopup unit is twisted... very very very common in the l96's... many forums have a repair guide for new owners to fix theirs, as they come from the maker like that.
tricks? lol... i hope you like learning

Aaah that makes sense. For the learning; anything that has to do with airsoft and improving my game is fine with me :P

I did some "sniping" with my m4 once, when some friends and I were playing on our land I loved it I just moved into a good ambush position once I located them when I had a good shot I'd just open up on full auto and down they went.   I usually got killed because it was me versus six other guys but it was really fun.   Its not true sniping but it worked for me and was fun which is one of the most important parts.

oh whatever, its a sniping ambush thing.  Isn't half of the shooting part of sniping ambushing any way.  I just did it with full auto :)

Just because a gun has a scope on it doesn't make it a sniper. It's just a scoped rifle. So in reality you just did an ambush with a rifle that had a scope on it. Correct?
