First AEG
« on: April 23, 2010, 09:48:45 AM »
Hey guys, I'm looking into getting my first A.E.G. I have found one that is pretty apealling to me. It is in my suspected price range of $150.00.

It is an M16 combat machine made by G&G.

This product is pretty new and has no reviews. ASGI only got it into their catalog this month.
I have posted a link below and I have a few questions about it.

-Is this a good starter AEG?
-Will it be a good gun?(Rating)
-What atatchments should I purchase?

G&G makes an excellent gun. Their Combat Machines are great. So:
Yes, its a good starter gun.
Yes, it will be a good gun.
I'd buy a new hopup and hopup bucking/nub. King arms or G&P hopup unit, Systema bucking, SCS nub or ECHO1 H-nub.

If you have any money left after that, buy a couple G&G high-cap mags.

Interesting thought I just had,

What do those things you were talking about do? Like the internals? I don't know much about them.

The hopup? Well...let me try and explain this:

The inner barrel of an airsoft gun is attached to a Hop-Up Unit. The way this works is the top if the inner barrel has a small, square hole cut into it (close to where the BBs enter the barrel from the feeding tube, which is generally integrated into the hop-up unit itself). The end of the barrel which is inserted into the Hop-Up Unit (including that square hole) is covered by a rubber sleeve called a Hop-Up Bucking. Inside the Hop-Up Unit, there is a small piece of plastic or rubber called a Hop-Up Nub. The Hop-Up Nub sits on top of the Hop-Up Bucking over that square hole, and when the Hop-Up Unit is turned "Up", the Hop-Up Nub pushes the Hop-Up Bucking down through the square hole until the Hop-Up Bucking is actually in contact with the BB itself. The purpose of all this? When the BB hits the protruding portion of the Hop-Up Bucking, it puts a backspin on the BB which in turn makes the BB fly farther.

Did I miss anything?

And when you install/uninstall a hop up, always make sure the hop up is turned all the way off. It is one heckuva pain to put it back in. I did this several times when triying to install a hop up unit,
