Yes, we really call this mode Mortal Kombat. Mainly because after I yelled "3, 2, 1" Rover yelled out "Mortal Kombat!!!!"
Players:
Defending Champ: 1
Challengers: Anyone else.
Rules:
One player will be chosen at the beginning to be the "Defending Champ." this player has the ability to pick any other player and declare them the Challenger.
After the champ has chosen his challenger, each player walk in opposite directions to two different start points until they are no more than 300 feet apart and no less than 100 feet.
Players are not allowed to retreat past their start points, this will prevent someone from running off to Stove Top. If someone retreats past their start point, they are called hit and must return to the dead pool.
Players must always advance on one another unless they are under fire. If a player is not under fire and stays behind cover for more than 5 seconds, they will be ordered by a moderator to move out.
If a match lasts more than 5 minutes, both players will be declared boring and will be called out. The moderators will then pick a new champion. This is meant to keep the games fast paced and interesting.
If the champ defeats his challenger, he picks which of the two start points he wishes to being at and calls out another player. If the challenger beats the champ, he becomes the new champ and calls out his new player (he may not call out the champ he just defeated).
The champ may choose to retire at any time if he is A: bored of being the champ or B: needs a break. If he chooses to retire he has the ability to name the new champ and pick who the new champ will fight first.
After each players has played at least one round in this mode, the person who is champion at the end will pick the player who died first at the beginning of the whole game.
We tested this yesterday and it was quite fun. It may get more complicated with more players, but it should be fun once we get it all squared away. Thoughts, comments, changes?
