Im probably gonna get slammed for this but ill say it

Support sniper

Guy with an extremely accurate gun who sits right behind the front line
Support snipers pin the enemy down with fewer well placed shots and when its a WWI scenario and bunkers are pinning your people down the support sniper takes them out

Sounds more like a designated marksman to me...
