Gas Pistol Issue.
« on: October 27, 2009, 11:19:58 AM »
I bought a KJW M8000 Gas Blowback pistol last Sunday which has a small issue: When I pull the trigger, all the gas goes out the barrel. Used silicone spray on all inner parts including magazine, tried green gas and propane and still the problem persists. Not really looking to spend a whole ton on parts since the gun itself didn't cost me much. If anyone has any ideas about what parts I need or what I can do, please post. Any help is appreciated. :P

Alright...same thing happened again but with a different gun (this is getting a bit old):

As many of you know, I bought Smoke's old KWA Glock 23F. I installed a new selector switch assembly, Airsoft Surgeon floating valve and hurricane high-flow magazine valve. Now the gas just shoots out the barrel on the first or second shot. I even bought a brand new KWA M19 magazine, and the problem persists. I've heard that this could be an issue with the hammer, or the recoil spring, or the hop up bucking even...

I would really like to get to the source of the problem, rather than systematically replace every single part on the gun :P . So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hmm....the problem with the hammer springs is a common issue, but it's really more for warmer weather and it doesn't have enough tension to hit the outlet valve with the correct amount of force to release the proper amount of gas to complete the blowback cycle and shoot the BB out of the barrel, so I can't imagine it's that...I doubt its the hop-up bucking, or the recoil spring....I imagine its the blowback assembly itself....I would remove it, clean it, and lube it with some silicone oil, make sure its moving freely...I had to do some filing on my KSC G19 to get the blowback assembly to cycle freely.

i have a stupid suggestion!
while reading the very nice paperwork that Evike put in with my M4, THANKS Savage and Evike for the raffle item!!!!
they suggested that for gas guns after filling them to allow the mag time to settle, i use this with my kjwm700p!
it seems to have corrected the gas problem i was having with it. i have also noticed that it does make my pt92 happy to let the gas settle before inserting the mag in the gun.
hope this helps.
and if not, well i said it was a stupid suggestion!

well i'll add my two cents as well then.  I feel that gas guns are better for summer use.  The clips work better in warmer conditions.  You should get your self a cheap co2 gun for the winter play.

Thanks guys for all the helpful suggestions, I appreciate it. LastSight: I have a C02 mag for my M9 that I will be using this winter, I just want my Glock to be fully operational by the time spring rolls around ;)

If it works fine with CO2 then it's not the pistol, it's just the gas.

Propane (ie green gas) has a low atmospheric weight when cold, so it doesn't have generate the pressure that it is supposed to in the winter. It can't throw around the mechanical parts it needs to in the gun. Very simple

Yeah, but they don't make CO2 KWA Glock mag's. And if your messing around with it inside, the mag at room temperature should be able to function perfectly fine.
