MoM Large Op Medic Rules
« on: June 13, 2009, 01:14:49 PM »
http://minutemenofmass.org/northern-fist/medic.html

I have looked at a similar system before, back when MAG was first starting to get together and its interesting. What do you guys think of these? I'm not proposing any change but maybe we could try it out sometime.

I think its a great idea but i do believe the whole kia card is kind of redundant. my favored medic rules would be for a medic to be able to heal everyone once via tying a white rag around their patient's arm. and thats it once hit again with the arm band you then go to respawn give your white rag back the medic and count out your spawn. this would both simulate the time it takes to at least stabilize someone on the field of combat. also would be great if the medic was under fire and started getting..."jumpy" and could not tie the white band.  ;D

I dont think its that bad.  First few times the Medics might not like it but it is kinda cool i think.  Personally i love the idea that wounded can talk and communicate with their team, as if in real life if you are wounded that doesnt mean you are not going to radio or communicate with your squard/Team.  Damn straight i be telling where the hell i got hit from.  Lol assuming im not DEAD!!  and if OPFORC doesn't want you talking they need to actually get to you and touch u on the shoulder to kill you.

Hello everyone My name is Moses from the Minutemen. I was just checking web stats and saw this link. I read through the thread and liked the conversation about the medic rule. We use the card system to simulate the medic's Evaluation of the wounded soldier. In a real combat situation the medic does not just run up to the wounded and tie a bandage on him. he has to check vital signs, entry wounds, exit wounds..... and this takes time. One thing we will be doing at northern fist is treating the wounded according to his wounds. so if you are hit in the arm you will receive first aid to your arm. We will have actual military members of the 182nd Cav. Scouts and the 19th SF group teaching you first aid before the match. also at the end of the game we have a written record of casualties so the out come of this op. will effect the next.

We are still working out some kinks on northern fist so keep checking the site and sign up to the forum. these kind of conversations only help us make a better op. for you all.

Thank you for you time

also would you be able to move the wounded and would the wounded be able to fire back like via a secondary weapon?

AO2 much?

I really liked the bandages and technically those are actually part of the "MAG Medic Rules" that are currently in place but the problem there lies in making sure that we have the right amount of bandages, etc. Maybe if the bandages were not limited we could get rid of that problem.

I really like the idea of 1 bandage, and then next time you are hit you must respawn. I also like the card, more so for tracking your day.

One thing we sometimes do is if a medic does not reach you in 10min you bleed out and have to go back to respawn. this way you can use limited bandages. also if the medic runs out and your hit your in big trouble. and after 10min your taking a walk... back to the spawn area.

as for the shooting when your wounded that's not aloud. only once you have been healed. but you can talk if your wounded but not if your dead.

This system has been tested on a very large scale a 150 head count game and at smaller events and has stood the test of time to this date. It brings a whole new level and importance to the medic class the last time I played this system as the medic, I threw my gun down and I played most of the game with just a pistol and has one of the best days of airsoft ever.

When you show up to a Minutemen hosted event you are in the army for the day. and we try to give you a taste of what some of us have gone though in real life. The nice thing about it is we all come home at the end of the day.

Thanks

hey thats an awsome game smoke  ;D
but i think if you are hit from a distance (i.e. excluding safety kills) i dont see why you cant use a pistol or something to fire back it just seems like it would be so much more epic

I like a good part of it and would definatly be willing to try it out.  In regards to shooting back, maybe it could be optional and if at the start of the game the vast majority or players wishes to try it, we should.

Yeah, we could try it a couple of different ways. Since there are so many newer players now its a good thing to go back over things we have tried in the past and also bring in some new ideas and see how they work. Thats the best way to make sure the game is as great as it can be

Would that mean you have to be on the ground to shoot, because if you were hit you proably still would not be standing.
