Plate Carriers
« on: March 30, 2009, 09:28:48 PM »
My friend and I are looking to come to the feild and get down with you all soon, but we were wondering something.  Do you have rules for plate carriers or body armor?  We both own differing kinds of these and were wondering if they are going to be of use or just look snazzy.

You need to know when you get his, we have had issues with vests and or ghillies in the past. They are not banned, but if you are using something that is stopping you from recognizing you have been hit it would be an issue

plate carriers are ok, as are vests  many people use them...
are you using the mock plates?
if so then you will have a very hard time telling if you got hit.

Like Ghost said Tactical vests are very popular.
We play though the winter and I've had issues feeling my hits when wearing winter clothes (thermals, normal clothes, sweater, and coat)... I had to take off some of my layers... I think if you're using the mock plastic plates then it will be an issue, if you take the plates out it should be fine.

most of the time the hits arent noticable for the most part. sound plays as much or more than feeling.

I walk on rocks, twigs, things hit trees, my canteen hits my belt... they all make "clinky" noises... plus the guy in front of me makes noises... it's not exactly the sound of the BB hitting me... it's hard for me to explain... it's kind of a sense... you KNOW when you've been hit... you see him pop up, shoot his gun, and then you hear the distinctive sound...

You know?

Is there any advantage to wearing one?   What I mean do you have rules like if your hit in the plate carrier are you still alive?
